The Personal Support Worker (PSW) program prepares students to provide supportive, person-centered care to individuals and families across various health care settings including long-term care, community, retirement, and hospital environments. Delivered in alignment with the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) curriculum and the Ontario Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) standards.

Our two-day medication administration course covers topics such as proper medication dosage calculations, medication administration techniques, understanding different types of medications and their effects, recognizing and managing medication side effects and adverse reactions, maintaining accurate medication records, and ensuring patient safety throughout the medication process.

This course may includes both theoretical learning through lectures and practical training through hands-on demonstrations and simulations.

Additionally, participants will learn about relevant regulations and standards governing medication administration in Ontario, as well as the importance of effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.

Upon completion of the course, participants may receive a certification or competency assessment to demonstrate their understanding and proficiency in medication administration.
